New postI Love The Music Of The 70's , 80's....

Saturday, December 6, 2008

and the 90's. Right now I'm listening to a my favorite playlist called "Chillin". Its loaded with R&B and Pop from the 80's thru the 90's. The feeling of nostalgia that comes over me is so delightful. As I am writing this entry, I am listening to Heatwave's "Always and Forever". What a beautiful song. It has to be the #1 first dance wedding song in the African American Community. For anyone who has never heard it, I've provided a youtube clip. Just beautiful.

In my opinion the music of today cannot compare. I think every generation makes this claim but being a woman born in the early 70's and only having to rely on records, 8 tracks and the radio to bring music into my home, I appreciate the work that went into the production of such masterpieces as shown above. Everyone had raw talent and musicians were needed. Talent was a must. Today's artist can rarely translate the sounds that come out of studio produced work to the stage. Oh well, thank god for the internet. It has allowed me to capture some of the best music every made.
